Ali' Sleeps Weird

Ali is my interesting child. She just does things a bit different than most. She is going to be my willful child forsure but in this blog I will talk about her sleeping style. I looked over at her this morning and just cracked up. She sleeps on her head..literally! She doesn't go to sleep this way but wakes up this way most mornings..I had to share with you all so you could get a kick out of it too. Here are the pics of her sleeping(well..pretending to anyways) and then the pics of her bed head.Have a great day :-)

Hailey's 4th Birthday Party

Last Friday we celebrated Hailey's 4th Birthday. My roomates daughter turned 6 around the same time so we had a joint birthday party for the girls. We were glad that they agreed on a Dora the Explorer theme and it turned out so cute. Boy..parties are ALOT of work!We had about a total of 30-35 people/kids here at our house so it was busy, busy, busy! We did a pinata and I about had a heart attack. The first piece of candy that fell out, Hailey ran out to grab it while the little boy was still swinging! Ay Ay Ay! We had a ton of fun and I hope y'all enjoy the pics :-) p.s. Do Ya think Ali enjoyed the candy?!

I'm Thankful for My mom's creativity!

This Thanksgiving was extra special because my mom had all her grandkids together. That has never happened since Ali has been born. My brother Michael, his wife Diana, and their two boys came into town from San Francisco for the holiday. My brother Darrin now lives here in Az so he was there with his wife, Christine and their 3 kids. We went and had a picture taken with all the grandkids so my mom will finally have 1 picture with all her grandkids in it. Anybody who knows my mom knows that she is so creative every holiday with activites for the kids. Well, this year was so fun to be a kid! My mom planned a scavenger hunt, a turkey singing recital, and how each child would prepare thanksgiving feast! On Wednesday my mom asked each child seperately what they would put in the turkey, how long and at what temperature they would cook it. This was HILARIOUS! She asked Hailey these questions and Hailey said she would fill her turkey with chicken feathers, wings, a picture of a chicken, and flowers on top. She would cook it on top of the stove at 29 degrees for 40 days until she got back. Ali said she would fill her turkey with milk ,sauce, juice and candy and she would cook it at 5 degrees on the BBQ with milk! Very entertaining forsure. I love the holidays with my mom, she always finds ways to keep the kids having fun. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to carry on the torch quite like mom but I would love to keep this tradition going..so precious!

Our New Book

When I used to dream about having kids I imagined sitting around reading to them and teaching them about important values, God, and how to be strong women. I have had a rough 2 years emotionally and have not had all the visions that I used to dream about come true. I was feeling beaten down but hangin' on.I had a pivotal day this weekend because I decided not to let circumstances cheat me any longer. I have such a strong desire to be an amazing mom and I choose now to go full force. I went back to church this weekend feeling broken and came out feeling alive. I went directly into the bookstore and bought a children's devotional book. The girls were so excited to have a new book and even more excited to have a new activity. We decided to sit together every morning and read one of the stories, talk about it, and possibly do the craft it includes. This is such an awesome book!! It is just at their level and they love it! Ali threw a fit at like 6 am yesterday because she woke up and wanted me to get up at 6 and read them their story! Uh...no! Sorry..I'm not THAT gung ho!! :-) I love my girls with all my heart and just hope and pray that I can be as good of a mom as the role models that I know and have known throughout the years.

Play Time

The girls love to play dress up and often come up with some pretty silly outfits and then ask me "Don't I look beautiful mommy?" and it just warms my heart. Sometimes they look so funny and I have to keep a straight face when I answer and tell them how beautiful they look! Here are a few shots of the girls playing dress up.

Also, just a few follow up things on previous blogs:

#1: My toilet is finally fixed! Yay! I waited forever to fix it because I was trying to locate an auger to have my brother do it(lucky him :), but just ended up calling for help from a professional. I called a couple plumbers that wanted to charge me $55 just to come out and then who knows how much to do the job. My dad suggested a handyman...Awesome idea!!! He had to remove the toilet to get the toothbrush out and replace a part and STILL only charged my a total of $50. Big relief to have that task handled..let me tell ya

#2: My eyes. I haven't been able to fit my glasses in the budget yet so I am still wearing ONE contact! It's pretty silly but the doctor would not let me wear a contact in the right eye but gave me a contact for the left eye..just until my glasses came in. Well, I am hoping to make it in this week to order the glasses finally:)

the flu day

On Monday night, I woke up to Ali getting sick...and you all know how fun that is with a 2 yr old! By morning she was feeling better and the sickness had subsided...and then it was Hailey's turn. Hailey was sick all day but at least she is old enough to know where to aim :) I gave her a bowl that was bright green that was not to leave her side...as you'll see in the pics. It is sooooo fun when both kids are sick with the flu...the day felt so long and I just couldn't keep up with the laundry, if ya know what I mean :).I was never so ready for their bedtime, that's forsure! They are feeling better now, thank goodness.

I am sooo proud of myself

Let me just say that I am not a computer whiz in the least and I would like to pat myself on the back for a moment and say that I am sooo proud of myself for figuring out how to change my background on this blog!! That's all..just wanted to share my excitement with y'all :)

My angels

I just wanted to quickly tell you all about my angels! As with all kids, there are good days and bad days..apparently yesterday was a bad day. I went to work at about 2:30 in the afternoon and up until this point, the day had been good. The girls were tired so I told my roommate she should put the girls to bed early. The girls did not listen all night, were crying and keeping on all night. The best part, and the reason why I'm writing this, was when Bridgett put the girls in their room for some much needed quite time..but sent them with popcorn. Doesn't sound bad, does it?! Until Ali decided to throw the popcorn all around the room...and shove it up her nose! The word is that she shoved the popcorn up her nose until it BLED! Who knew popcorn would even fit up the nose? Good times! Gotta love 2 year olds :)

Halloween Dancin' Fun

On Thursday, the girls got to go to a Halloween Dance that was being put on by my niece and nephews school. They had sooo much fun and were dancing machines, so I hear. I had to work that night so my brother and his wife took all the kids, all 5 of them! They were all so excited to get into their costumes a day early. Hailey was a scarecrow, Ali was Dorothy, Anna was a witch, Michael was Jack Sparrow, and Frederick was the Cat in the Hat. On Halloween night my camera died so these are all the pics I have for now. Enjoy!

One of those days!!

So my week has been pretty crazy but got even better today. Let's just create a visual..toothbrush+toilet=out of order..and I can't even blame the kids because I did it myself. I was was cleaning while flushing the toilet and bam! There goes the electric toothbrush down the hole! So much for mommy multi-tasking.Who knew that thing could even BE flushed :) Let that be a lesson learned!Guess who got to stick their hand in the toilet to try to get it out..with no luck:) Oh Mr. Roto Rooter..where are you? I sure hope my day gets better than this or I may have to just go back to bed..ha ha!Hope you all can get a giggle out of this..I actually had to laugh at this myself.

Fun Day

We had a pretty uneventful week until Sunday. Sunday Auntie Chistie came to visit and they hadn't seen her since last January. My brothers family hadn't seen Auntie Christie for about 3-4 years so there was quite an excited bunch. We had an awesome time catching up and Hailey and Ali had fun showing off their big girl skills!! When my brother first moved here I promised a picture of Frederic with my girls to show the size difference.(Remember, he's Ali's age:) ) I finally got one that is better than all the others I've taken. Auntie will be back in a few weeks so they will get to spend more time with her soon.

Too Cute

My mornings pretty much all look the same.. Make coffee..make kids breakfast...watch cartoons..then I take my chances and leave the girls downstairs for a few minutes to check my computer. They usually play in the playroom but today I left them downstairs watching cartoons. I had only been upstairs a few minutes when I realized it was waaaay to quite down there. I slowly went downstairs ready for a big bad surprise but instead this is what I found...Ali silently laying down sucking her thumb(of course) letting Hailey brush her hair!! It was so adorable I had to share with y'all....Sometimes they surprise you and actually aren't naughty...Who knew?! :-)

Grandma Mary came to visit!

The girls just love their Grandma Mary and she came out for a few days to visit from California. They were so funny because they wouldn't let me do anything for them..only grandma. I couldn't change diapers:( or get sippee cups or get snacks or anything!! Ok by me! As you can see..they had to hold only grandma's hand walking into the store..and they both wanted to sit by her at the restaurant. We really had a nice time and can't wait for the next visit..maybe next time we can go see them so we can see Pa too:-) Luv you Pa!!

Our play

So after a week of practicing and anticipating our performance...we decided to have the girls put on their play on Monday night when Bridgett came home. Little Miss Ali decided to throw a fit and I opted for an early bed time. It was that or loose my mind...I chose early bed!! Needless to say, she missed out on the play! We were short a bee but it went off without a hitch...they were so cute because they were so proud of themselves. Here is the storyline they came up with...A butterfly and bee(Ali) are flying around and get stuck in a bush.Along comes a princess(Hailey) who sees them and tries to save them but also gets stuck. Luckily for them, a kangaroo comes along and pulls them all out of the bush!! The End. Pretty creative Iwould say!!

Lots of Girls

As most of you know, I live with a roomate and she has 3 girls. Yup...there are 7 girls in our house. We are a busy house but we really enjoy the company. Its nice to see the girls playing...they learn so much..good and bad :) This week the older girls were out of school for fall break so I had the 4 older girls home with me and the baby went to daycare. It's interesting how much effort it takes for 4 little girls to make a united decision...but even more interesting to see the compromises they make within their own little world! Here's a picture of the girls sitting on the couch discussing what they are going to have for lunch...next is "all hands in the air for turkey sandwiches!" It was too cute to not capture on camera. I was trying to come up with things for them to keep entertained and saw something on tv about a talent show. I decided this would at least keep them busy trying to plan it and it has!! They decided to have a play that they oldest girl,Jayden, has written. They each have their own costumes and so we'll see how it turns out...should be cute!!
